Adam & Katerina
Thank you for reading our profile and getting to know us. Raising a child will fill our lives with joy, and we want to return that joy to him or her in the form of unconditional love, warmth, laughter, and guidance. We will always honor your gift and pass on this great goodness to the child through kindness, support, and understanding. Thank you for considering helping make our dream of becoming parents come true.
How We Met

We first met in a cozy little café in the downtown area of the city where we both lived. It was one of those charming places filled with the smell of freshly ground coffee. We happened to sit at neighboring tables, and a simple smile turned into a friendly conversation. We talked for hours about our dreams and favorite places. It soon became clear that we shared a similar outlook on life and a deep curiosity about the world around us.

We both loved to travel and explore new places. Katerina enjoyed discovering hidden gems and peaceful countryside spots in our home country, while Adam was passionate about visiting foreign countries and learning about different cultures. During our early dates, Katerina showed Adam the natural beauty around the city, quiet forests, and lakes. In return, Adam introduced her to the joy of traveling abroad, and together they explored Spain, France, Greece, and Sri Lanka, collecting memories that brought us even closer.
Our Cultural Heritage

Our cultural heritage comes from the Czech Republic, a country where history and imagination intertwine. We grew up with legends of brave knights, mysterious water spirits, and kind-hearted princesses, stories like Princess Libuse, who foresaw the founding of Prague, or Vodnik, the mischievous water goblin guarding the ponds and rivers.
Fairy tales by Czech authors filled our childhood with magic and moral lessons. Folk traditions in the Czech Republic remain strong. Spring is welcomed with the burning of Morana to chase away winter, Easter brings hand-painted eggs and willow whips for good health, and Christmas is full of carols, handmade ornaments, and the scent of honey cookies.
The books with these stories still remain in our library, and we return to them from time to time. They remind us of our roots and the values we hope to share with our future child.
Our Leisure Time
In our free time, we both love to stay active and creative. Katerina enjoys spending quiet afternoons surrounded by colors, brushes, and canvases, working on her unique artworks. She looks forward to sharing this passion with a child, painting side by side, crafting, and exploring imagination together.
Adam recently discovered scuba diving and fell in love with the beauty of the underwater world. He also likes mountain biking and has fun doing woodworking. On weekends, he often spends time in his workshop building furniture or making diverse home improvements.
Together, we love spending time outdoors, whether hiking trails, exploring national parks, or relaxing at the beach, we share these activities often with our friends. We also enjoy simple pleasures like gardening, cooking meals together, playing board games, or visiting local art fairs. We look forward to sharing these activities, from creative projects at home to outdoor adventures, with a child, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder about the world around us.

Our Extended Families

Although our families live in Europe, we still have a close contact with them and call each other once a week. We can always turn to them with any question and talk openly. Since moving to California seven years ago, we’ve also found several great friends whom we consider our extended family.
Adam has a wonderful relationship with his parents. His brother Stanislav and his wife have a 7-year-old son, Richard, who is full of energy and absolutely loved SeaWorld and the zoo when they visited us this year. He’s in school now, but for example, when he was in kindergarten, he once brought a screwdriver to class and, without the staff noticing, managed to disassemble several cabinets.

Katerina has a younger sister, Sarka, and a niece, Gabi, who is now in the second grade. Gabi’s biggest passion is basketball, and when Katerina visited them this summer, she didn’t miss any of her practices. Gabi even mentioned that she looks forward to playing basketball in the U.S. someday, since her aunt lives here. Katerina's parents are divorced, and she also has a half-brother whom she met when she was six and he was sixteen. Since they met, they formed a strong bond and spent nearly every weekend together.
Our parents were thrilled when we told them we were planning to adopt. They know what we’ve been through while trying to have a child, and they will love the child unconditionally, just as they love us.
Our House and Neighborhood

We have been living near the coast of California for eight years and have fallen in love with this place. Its sunny weather, beautiful landscapes, and friendly community make it a wonderful place to call home.
Two years ago, we bought a house with a beautiful backyard full of plants, where we grow oranges, tangerines, passion fruits, apples, and mulberries. The house has four bedrooms and a spacious living room with a foosball table that our friends’ children always enjoy playing with. We live just 15 minutes by car from the beach, which we often visit for long walks, and relaxing afternoons by the water.
There is a park with a children’s playground just five minutes away, where neighbors often gather and events such as Easter egg hunts, seasonal festivals are organized.
The city and its surroundings offer many wonderful places for walks, hiking, and plenty of attractions for children. The sunny, warm weather, even in winter, lets us spend a lot of time outdoors, enjoying picnics in one of the many parks with playgrounds. Our city also has a wide selection of schools, various after-school activities for children, and two large universities, making it an ideal place for families.
An important occupant of our house is a cat Daisy, and she is looking forward to having a new friend to play her favorite hide-and-seek games with and explore the backyard.
From Us to You

We want to begin by expressing our deepest gratitude to you for taking the time to read our letter. We can only imagine the strength, courage, and love it takes to consider adoption, and we are truly honored to share a glimpse of who we are and the life we hope to offer a child. We deeply respect the thoughtful consideration you are giving to your child’s future, and we appreciate you considering adoption as one of the possibilities.
We are a married couple who have been together for 13 years. During this time, we have learned how to build trust through open communication, honesty, and shared experiences. Even when our opinions differ, we listen to one another with empathy and patience, always finding our way forward together. We’ve come to understand that love is not only a feeling but also a deep connection based on respect, admiration, and acceptance of each other’s imperfections. These years have strengthened our partnership and our desire to share our love and stability with a child.
Our path to parenthood has included challenges, but it has also deepened our belief that family is built on love and commitment. We view adoption as a beautiful and meaningful way to grow our family and to honor the love and selflessness that make it possible.
Our life together is centered around creativity, learning, and exploration. Katerina is an artist who loves painting, creating, and bringing beauty into everyday life. She looks forward to helping a child express themselves, dream freely, and see the world with curiosity and wonder. Adam is a software engineer who enjoys solving problems, exploring nature, and making things, whether it’s a new piece of furniture, a porch for our backyard, or building a Lego castle with his nephew. He’s excited to teach a child how things work and to share his sense of curiosity and playfulness.
We imagine days filled with laughter, learning, and adventure, reading together from our growing collection of children’s books, playing games, building forts, hiking through national parks, or simply sharing stories at bedtime. We look forward to helping with homework, celebrating milestones, and encouraging a child to discover their unique talents and dreams. We will nurture a sense of kindness, confidence, and respect for others, and guide them with love through life’s ups and downs.
When it comes to adoption, we plan to be open and honest with our child from the start. We will share their adoption story, so they always know how deeply they are loved by both us and you. We will speak with gratitude about their birth parents, honoring your courage and the love that led to their adoption. Your child will always know that their story began with great love and hope.
We also want to express our openness to maintaining contact, if that is something you desire. We are happy to share letters and pictures so that you can stay connected to your child’s growth and milestones. We are also open to emails, video calls, or future visits, and we want to create a relationship that feels right and comfortable for everyone involved. We believe that a child’s life is enriched by knowing all the people who love and care for them.
We understand that choosing an adoptive family is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. We hope that through this letter, you can sense the warmth, stability, and joy we hope to offer. Our dream is to raise a child in a home filled with laughter, learning, creativity, and unconditional love. We are ready to open our hearts and create a life where your child will feel cherished, supported, and free to become exactly who they are meant to be.
With love and deep respect,
Adam & Katerina
